How to start. I’m the brother another author, trey. My geeky interests include Minecraft, tabletop games( dungeons and dragons, pathfinder, gamma world etc.) video games, comic books, urban fantasy novels, star wars, fantasy football, and more Minecraft. Some of my non-geeky hobbys are fishing, hanging out with friends, and normal teen things.

Yes I know am a bit late to this party. Being the nature of me and the other authors of this blog we all have other responsibilities besides fun so our recommendations may not always be timely.
With all that, I have finally finished The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. This book was possibly the best beginning to a fantasy series since the Game of Thrones series by George R. R. Martin . The grittiness is there along with constantly evolving group of characters. Abercrombie is deft with both mystery and brutal combat and his world building is second to none. It is nice to see authors continue to write for adults in mind. It wasn’t that long ago that the fantasy section was where you expected to see 10-12 year old kids hanging out and the publishers knew it and appropriately catered to it. I can’t say enough that this was a great book and a great beginning of the First Law Trilogy: The Blade Itself, Before They Are Hanged and Last Argument of Kings.
