Opened Spotify and just clicked on the first Album cover that caught my eye. Happened to be Army of Mushrooms by Infected Mushroom. Album is itself full of some great electronica. They covered The Foo Fighters song The Pretender very well here. Try something new.
If there were to be say a “Geek Hall of Fame”, all three things involved in this video would have a place. Ben Folds Five, Fraggle Rock, and The Nerdist. This is the video for Ben Folds Five new song “Do it Anyway” featuring Fraggles and Chris Hardwick from The Nerdist. Watch untill the very end of the video. I hope this signifies more work on the Fraggle Rock movie http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Fraggle_Rock_(movie). Also check out all the other great stuff from The Nerdist Channel on youtube.
Maybe it’s a sign that a jealous type but I think unboxing videos are a blight on the internet. In my personal opinion the hamster dance has more merit than any unboxing vid. That is why the above compilation of Nexus 7 unboxing fails gives me unmitigated pleasure. Watch as TV personalities and bloggers try to break into the Fort Knox of boxes that encapsulates the Nexus 7.
Nerdy spoof of Gotye‘s song Somebody that I used to Know. Made by Teddie Films. Great job guys! Hope to see more. Found this from listening to Kevin Smith and Ralph Garmin’s podcast Hollywood Babble-on. This song definitely speaks to the Star Wars fan in me. pretty cool
I’ve known about Rifftrax for a while now, but, I just found out that a bunch of their stuff is on Hulu. If you don’t know what Rifftrax is, it is essentially the guys behind Mystery Science Theater 3000 continuing to do their thing. Which is intelligently making fun of a movie while you watch it. These guys (Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett) are a polished insult machine. Their site has a huge library of media options. Including Video on Demand, as well as just the Audio you can sync with some of your favorite (or not so favorite films). The Hulu selection is but a sample of what movies they cover. They have covered everything from short 1950′s safety films to the Twilight series. Often they also include guest “Riffers” such as Joel McHale, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Coultan, and Veronica Belmont. In case you are interested they also stream live events to your local movie theater through Fathom Events. Check out Rifftrax on Hulu here: http://www.hulu.com/studio/rifftrax?sort=name or their site here: http://www.rifftrax.com/
Idiocy, betrayal, selfishness. Yes those words all describe the actions taken by a player in World of Warcraft that let to the meme “Leeroy Jenkins“. At the CFC Worlwide Short Film Festival, A film using the source material recast as a heist film was made by Finn O’Hara. Interesting film that brings back memories of watching the original “Leeroy Jenkins”

Dan Found this trailer a while ago after a discussion leading us to question what movies Steve Zahn has been in and we forgot to post it. Well here is a very geeky looking movie about Live Action Role Players who accidentally summon a real demon. Cast includes Summer Glau, Ryan Kwanten, Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn, Danny Pudi, and is directed by Joe Lynch. Another fun one. Zahn hasn’t looked this funny since Saving Silverman. Looks like a grand adventure of the cheesiest type…..Huzaaa!
